Twenty Years in the Making

It all began in the spring of 1996 when I, Nick Rosato, employed at Waste Management at the time, had a vision to start my own mobile air conditioning service business. With a service van, tools, rented shop space, and a ton of mechanical knowledge, I followed my dream. The original plan was to continue working on what I was most comfortable with, trash trucks. That plan worked out great at the start but it wasn’t long before I expanded into all heavy-duty trucks and off-road equipment. At this point it was apparent that this was more than a one-man operation; Texas Truck AC was in high demand.

Marci Rosato came on board full time in 1997 as the acting President. Marci handled the office duties while I took care of the service work. As each year went by the expansion continued; starting with building our own facility to hiring more and more employees. By the year 2000, we were working out of a 4,800 sq. ft. facility and operating 3 service trucks.

In 2001, we started to see weaknesses in the supply of parts and higher parts pricing from our distributors. This was of great concern to us due to the long-term effects it would have on our customers with downtime and expense. Therefore, we expanded into parts, opening up our own parts department. We now had access to millions of dollars of parts and units on-site. This gave us a clear advantage with on-site parts availability and direct manufacturers' pricing.

In 2009, after 13 very profitable years, we experienced our first recession. We lowered our operating expenses and weathered the storm like a true champion. Even though a percentage of our business was lost that year, we still turned a profit. We can attribute our success during those times to the strong foundation that was built from the beginning.

2010 brought a change in management and philosophy. We hired a new service manager, office assistant, and three technicians. Our new team members brought a much needed change in philosophy which attributed to us more than tripling our business over the coming years. We expanded our markets to everything from small SUV’s to 84 passenger buses, “if it had air conditioning we fixed it.”

2012 was the year of expansion. The growth from our new and existing markets put our shop and service trucks at full capacity. Expansion was in full force. We not only doubled our service facility to 9,600 sq. ft. but also added our sixth service truck.

Currently through our expanded markets we have experienced tremendous growth. We now have 17 full time team members and with the addition of two new service trucks in 2016, we operate a fleet of nine. Today we are BIGGER, FASTER, and STRONGER than ever, able to react in a moment’s notice, so you receive the best service, value and quality in the industry.
